6/3/08 ELENA'S UPDATE FROM THE EVENT.
Gloria and I made the short haul to Tustin at 7 am to help Donna Salazar host this amazing event. Stephanie Ackerman, Cheryl from Fiskateers, Leah Fung, Candice Carpenter, Teresa Collins, and Nan Patruzo, were some of the names that attended, or donated to raise money for the Tyree Family of Orange County. The event was a complete success, the women were amazing, the problems few, the food by Rhonda amazing, and the donations generous. With only a $10 minimum donation requirement, and 30 women, we raised $3757. It was really moving to hear Priscilla's story and be able to help her family a little bit.
WE WOULD LIKE TO RAISE MORE MONEY...
So we are raffling off a Pink and Black Big Shot $90 and a Kit from All Moments Remembered $42.
|
  Black Big Shot a $90 value. |
Kit from All Moments Remembered a $42 value. |
|
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 (buy 4 get one free!!)
100% of the money we raise through this raffle will be donated to the Tyree family in the form of a gift card to Albertson's.

The purpose of this event is to help the Tyree Family get back on their feet.
Priscilla Tyree was a stay at home mom caring for their four children (Sophia, Camille, McKenzie & Miles) one of which is still in diapers. George was a wonderful husband to Priscilla and a devoted father to his children. George had been experiencing very strong headaches and on Sunday, September 16th, 2007, he was admitted into the hospital. The doctors ran some tests and found that he had an advanced stage of acute leukemia. On Monday night George went into a coma and by Wednesday night, George passed away. George's unexpected and sudden death has left his family devastated.
Please don't miss this opportunity to be a part of bettering the quality of life for the children that George has left behind. All proceeds/donations/profits will go towards gas & grocery store gift cards for the Tyree Family.
The event is sponsored by and being held at The Red Bee in Tustin. The cost to attend the crop is $35 and for $55 we will be offering two classes. Each person also needs to bring a minimum $10 Gift Card for Pricilla's local gas station and her grocery store. The gas stations are Mobil and Arco or 76, grocery stores are Albertsons and Trader Joes.

Donna Salazar
I love to inspire others to find their "artistic voice". My mom "made" me take art my freshman year in high school and I quickly realized that something that I thought was nerd... could satisfy my soul. After school I ended up spending several years working in a corporate job that was "non-artsy". It took a serious car accident to convince me to return to feeding my passion for art. I've learned that sometimes we need to be nudged into trying something that we aren't used to and in the process we may find that "different" is a very good thing.

|
At any given moment I might be. . .
praying, baking chocolate chip cookies and/or wedding cakes, watching Jack perfect his latest skateboard trick, helping with homework, doing laundry, ordering a large diet coke with extra ice (only from Mc'D's!) downloading a new font, feeding Ollie, (Benjamin's hamster), scrapbooking, e-mail someone at 4am, feeding Snowflake (mom's bunny) coordinating fabric, re-tying Ben's shoes, doing more laundry, REALLY loving paper, sitting at the local skatepark, feeding Coco (jack's dog) working at the kids school, loving my boys, reorganizing my scrap room, turning trash into treasures, sewing, did I mention laundry???

Scrapbookers are a unique group. They are sentimental, caring people who love to get together and crop! It is a natural fit for them to have a great time while raising money for charity. That being said, we are taking donations of hand made items to add to the silent auction.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED PARTICIPANT TO CONTRIBUTE! Everyone is welcome to donate. Anything hand made qualifies. It can be a mini book, a necklace, a scarf… the possibilities are endless. Get creative and get recognized for your creativity!
Nothing is more rewarding than donating to noble causes.
Please email us at info@scrapbookroyalty.com if you are able to contribute so we can register your item and assign it an auction number.

Become Scrapbook Royalty!
There are three ways to do this:
1) Queen of Silent Auctions
At this time all the silent auctions will be for handmade as well as non-scrapbooking related items. Bring your own handmade creation to donate and together we can raise money for these worthy causes. The participant that donates the most money through silent auction will be crowned "Queen of Silent Auctions".
2) Queen of Crafts
Win a tiara and fabulous prizes. Bring a handmade item for the Silent Auction. If your item fetches the most money will be crowned "Queen of Crafts".
3) Queen of Sweets
This one is new to this event but not new to those of you that attended other SBR events last year! Bring a handmade dessert to share with your fellow croppers and compete for the title "Queen of Sweets"! We will serve your homemade treats during tea time and participants will vote on their favorite dessert! Make BITE SIZED pieces for 40 people. The winner will be crowned during the festivities.
